Cork grows with the bark of the cork oak tree. It is harvested manually every 9-12 years and no trees are cut down. Every bit of bark is used: wine corks are crushed, used as bottle stoppers, and recycled by businesses and individuals like you.  The scraps are ground and mixed with recycled wine corks to create some Free-Markets recycled cork products.
