Iran launched a fresh wave of ballistic missiles at Israel on Monday, hours after Tehran denied US claims of direct talks between President Donald Trump and an Iranian leader. A technical malfunction in Israel’s David’s Sling air defense system allowed two missiles to hit southern Israel, wounding dozens of people over the weekend.
In response, Israeli warplanes carried out overnight airstrikes on targets in southern Beirut, killing at least two people. The Israeli military said it targeted Hezbollah and Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) positions in the Lebanese capital.
Across the Gulf, Saudi Arabia reported detecting two new ballistic missiles fired from Iran, as cross-border attacks continue to disrupt regional energy supplies and shipping lanes. The UN has warned the escalating conflict risks a full-scale regional war and a worsening humanitarian catastrophe .
